Any target in the makefile may be specified as a goal (unless it starts with ‘ - ’ or contains an ‘ = ’, in which case it will be parsed as a switch or variable definition, respectively). Crusader kings 3 steam. Even targets not in the makefile may be specified, if make can find implicit rules that say how to make them. If CC/CXX differ from path, I get Incorrect 'gcc' version 'compiler.version=5.3' is not the one detected by CMake: 'GNU=4.8' – Lilith River Feb 25 '16 at 18:02 1 How do I. The GNU Compiler Collection and GNU Toolchain (Binutils, GDB, GLIBC). CMake belongs to 'Java Build Tools' category of the tech stack, while Make can be primarily classified under 'Code Automation Tools'.

Non-portable for some definition of portable. Catch 2 cmake.
I've given up trying to write truely portable makefiles, i.e.
makefiles that work with all Unix make and with Windows nmake, and
whatever else crops up. I moved to GNU make on Windows a long time
ago, and to GNU make on Solaris around Sun CC 4.0 -- the Sun make at
the time core dumped when reading building dependancies for the files
in the template repository.

Gnu Make Tutorial
I use GNU make exclusively, because it IS a solution to the
portability problem. It's probably not the only solution, but it is
the easiest one. (Since then, I've gotten used to using a lot of its
extensions.)

Of course, like all such choices, it should be documented. I've a
read me in the root directory which says that GNU make is required
(and explains my reasons for this requirement). I've also named my
makefiles GNUmakefile, so that only GNU make will find them.
